Livingston<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Designated in 1962, it is the largest town in West Lothian, and second-largest settlement in the Lothians, after Edinburgh<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We are a not-for-profit, social enterprise<\/a> company set up to help make Livingston and West Lothian a better place to live. We aim to build and run much needed social, leisure and community facilities. Additionally, as we are a not-for-profit organisation, any profits will be reinvested back into the business and the local community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Idea<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Livingston is a relatively large town in Scottish terms. The population is currently over 57,000 and is expected to continue growing, potentially reaching 100,000 in future years. The council cannot afford to build or maintain leisure and community facilities, which is having a huge impact on the health and wellbeing of our residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our aim is to build new leisure and community facilities in the town. Furthermore, all projects will be undertaken with the community in mind, and will stay under ownership of Livingston Community Developments, the community, or a combination of both. In addition to this, as we are a not-for-profit organisation, all profits will be reinvested back into our projects and the local community.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

We feel there is huge potential within the county to produce the next generation of entrepreneurs, business, and sports people. Consequently, we aim to help them realise their potential by providing the facilities and inspiration to chase their dreams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, any new facilities we build will harness green energy such as solar power, with any excess being injected back into the national grid to help contribute to Scotland’s net zero targets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Livingston Community Developments is being set up solely for the good of Livingston and West Lothian residents, to ensure people of all ages in the county can find a sense of community, wellbeing and happiness.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Swimming Pool<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The idea here is to build a new community owned, public swimming pool.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Bring back the ice rink! We want ice hockey, ice skating and curling back in Livingston.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
